Class overview
No Equipment, No Hesitation: Muzzle Fighting for K9 Teams
Muzzle fighting is a critical component of training that prepares your dog to confidently engage a suspect without the presence of bite equipment. Many engagement failures can be directly traced to a lack of proper muzzle fighting or flawed implementation.
This course provides a structured, proven system to develop committed engagement in the muzzle. Handlers will learn how to properly neutralize the dog to the muzzle, build effective searching behaviors while muzzled, and progress into high-intensity muzzle fighting.
Intensity is a by-product of belief. A dog that believes he can bite with the muzzle on is a dog that fights without hesitation. An innovative purpose-built muzzle design has just been produced and is incorporated to enhance the dog’s perception of the fight, helping maintain commitment and forward aggression throughout the engagement. When combined with proper decoy work, handling techniques, and the elimination of common training mistakes, this system produces reliable, confident performance.
The end result is a dog that brings intensity, clarity, and commitment into real-world deployments—even in the absence of equipment—significantly increasing the likelihood of immediate, successful engagement.
